Glitter is the herpes of the art world.

I love it when people walk in front of the projector and they face the audience. Then text and pictures and moving images are etched on their faces, and I try to read them. Like they’ve been wallpapered. If you’re fast enough to look behind them before they move out of the way, you’d see a black space in the exact same shape as them and it’s weirdly breathtaking. Such detachment. Such attachment.

Anyway, it must disturb some of you that my blog title for two posts in a row has had some kind of twisted connection to STDs. I have no way of explaining as to why this is so other than to dismiss it as sheer coincidence. But I'm sure not alot of you have that much faith. Stay with me. Please.

1) This week had its own predictable dollop of drama and fatigue and, honestly, it's really getting a bit old saying that You're Tired and Have Alot of Work To Do. Everyone is, everyone does. You either suck it up and roll with the punches, roundhouse kicks and silat chops or you're set to have everyone else's dust for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's not been easy. There've been tears set to flood the Mekong and strings wound so tight your heart quivers. The breaths everyone's been taking have been so sharp and choppy and irregular that for random intervals of time, you might find nobody breathing.

I don't have revolutionary words of encouragement or I Have a Dream speeches, but COME ON GUYS WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU MAKE YOU STRONGER!!!!!!!!!!!! *insert punches into the air, epic crowd approval and...Courage Wolf*

2) Then came the redemption points for the crappy week. Had two of the best days in the year so far (I say very confidently, knowing that I've cleared all loopholes just in case another really good day comes along).

Best Day No. 1:
a) CLEMENT TAY IZ IMPRESSED
b) ADRIAN LIM CALLED ME A F-14 TOMCAT FUCK JYYEAHHHHHHHHHH
c) POPCORN FOR BEST SPEAKER
d) AUNT'S GOING TO BE OK O.K. OKAAAAAAY
e) SMOKED SALMON CRAVING CLEARED
f) ENOUGH SLEEP

Best Day No. 2
Redefined productivity by mass-assassinating 9999999 birds with ONE hunk of geological wonder.

Went down to National Museum with Noel again yesterday to frantically salvage our News Writing assignment. Scored a potential new story and had a nice time in the permanent exhibitions to ourselves. Had breakfast before that and played with the rings Linette and Ashu got me for my birthday.

Accessorizing Fail

Met Elaine at Soup Spoon later while Noel pranced off for a facial. Very efficiently completed the survey questionnaire we had to do for Media Research Methods whilst downing good food. This also included Smoked Salmon Craving Clearance Part II.

Then we conveniently botched all plans to go back to the National Museum, justifying with the fact that we could go on Sunday/ everyone would want to sleep in today/ everyone's Buddhist they won't be at museums today/ nobody would want to give out their phone numbers/ we're too tired/ etc, etc, etc.

So we pointlessly hogged the seats at Soup Spoon for a good while or so, planning a full-on, ALL SYSTEMS A GO GO attack on the retail mecca that is Bugis. We had a strategy, route and oh how we craved for war paint. We Banzai-ed in, with wallets dangerously loaded and recharged with people jostling power.

After a good mad dash around Bugis Street, we retreated to the air-conditioned bliss that is Iluma for one of my favourite shopping locations: ATRIUM SALES. Seriously, guyz, atrium sales always ALWAYS have the best deals. It's a matter of acquiring a zen state of mind, tenacity and digging power like a bulldozer's. Elaine got three maxi dresses for $10. TRUE STORY.

The actual process remains undocumented. Because, apparently, when the resident photographer's sweaty and furiously competing for oxygen, the last thing he wants to do is set shutter speeds and adjust apertures. It's ok, Noel, I don't blame you.

Though the boy *did* seem a tad more energized after winning a Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headset (...........i know right) from the SingTel roadshow they were having next to the atrium sale.

He had to piece together some Korean girls (Hi, Hanna).

We had Cold Rock ice cream with the best mix-ins and a drink from Subway for free. Then Elaine and I got too excited to wait till home to try out our new threads, so we charged to the toilet and changed.

Damn our sides hurt so bad from running and laughing.

And because Noel was pining so much for the Internet (that horrible technology zombie) we moved our asses over to McDonalds to tap on good ol' Wireless@SG and gather determination to stay as long as we could without needing to buy anything.

Just when we thought we'd be done for the day, the glowing neon sign of Ritz called from across the road. And soon enough, we found ourselves slumped in cold metal chairs outside with a mini apple strudel and a can of coke to split among ourselves.

Oh, and the lights were mad pretty:

THEN, we went home.
