pesto fest-o

i like pesto. i like how it's a bit higher up on the supermarket shelves, above all the eye-level pasta sauces, so i feel like i'm breaking some kind of marketing law when i have to tip-toe a little to reach it. i like how i tweeted about trying to find something to eat with it and mary replied, "everything.". i like how i can have it with just toast and that will be all i need. and i like how nobody else in the house likes it as much as i do. more for me.

i'm sure it'll all be very worth it if i take the time to make my own pesto. every homey food blogger says so. and all their naturally lit, high-contrast pictures of food porn almost always convince me. but i am consistently scraping the bottom of my work-life balance barrell for time, and, i'm sorry, blending greens is just not a priority for me right now.

thank god for waitrose.
